NPAVSCC ⁄ IVEA Poster Campaign
17 September 2009
The National Parents Association for Vocational Schools and Community Colleges (NPAVSCC) today published a Poster which will be distributed to all schools and colleges in the VEC sector in the coming weeks. The poster was launched today by the Minister for Education and Science, Mr Batt O’Keeffe TD, at the Irish Vocational Education Association (IVEA) annual Congress in Ennis.
The Poster was produced by a working group composed of members from NPAVSCC, IVEA, CEOs of VECs and Principals, and funded by the Irish Public Bodies Mutual Insurances Ltd.
The team, chaired by NPAVSCC, consulted a number of parties in relation to the impact of bullying on students. The idea of a poster highlighting respect for each other and the positive impact of working together was seen as the best way forward. The Working Group worked closely with the printers in creating and approving the final design.
The poster will be distributed to all VEC schools, colleges and education centres, to be placed in public areas where students gather, to draw attention to the need for:
The colourful Poster features a number of images and slogans encouraging respect for oneself and others, and drawing attention to the need to avoid the negative aspects and disrespect that bullying and being a victim of bullying can bring about.
Copies of the poster are available from NPAVSCC and will be sent to all VEC sector schools, colleges and education centres.
