EU Director General for Education, Culture & Lifelong Learning to Address IVEA Educational Conference

IVEA is proud to announce that Ms Hélène Clark, Director General for Education, Culture and Lifelong Learning in the EU has agreed to address the Annual Congress of the Irish Vocational Education Association (IVEA) on September 16th 2010 at the Heritage Golf & Spa Resort, Killenard, Co Laois.
This is a major ´coup'´ for IVEA and is the first Irish educational conference to be addressed by EU Director General Clark. Her challenging address is expected to set out a context for the future development of education and training in a European setting within which the Irish educational policy must be firmly located.
Ms Clark's address will be a highlight of IVEA Congress 2010, and her attendance is a very significant vote of confidence in the vocational education sector, the IVEA and member VECs.
The Irish Vocational Education Association (IVEA) represents the interests, at national level of Ireland's thirty-three Vocational Education Committees (VECs).

The VECs are statutory education authorities currently delivering educational programmes up to 100,000 second level pupils and 200,000 adult education learners. The day-to-day administration of the association is carried out by the secretariat, headed by the General Secretary, Mr Michael Moriarty in the IVEA's head office in Dublin.
