Post Leaving Certificate (PLC) Courses
The PLC programme offers full-time courses, of one (1) year or two (2) years' duration, that provide integrated general education, vocational training and work experience with the opportunity to acquire FETAC level 5 or 6 awards in a wide range of fields.
Adults with no formal educational qualifications are welcome to apply for enrolment in these courses and 50% of PLC participants are adults returning to education. 90% of PLC enrolments are in the VEC sector.
Some students use PLC courses as a stepping stone to further education through the Higher Education Links Scheme.
Please contact your local VEC for further information or read the Department of Education's Frequently Asked Questions on PLCs
