Prisoner Education
Prisoner Education is principally a partnership between the Irish Prison Service and the VECs at 13 prisons around the country.
VECs employed 210 whole-time teacher equivalents in the provision of prisoner education in 2005/06 and the level of participation in the prisoner education service is high by international standards.
